Since most local musicians are now on Facebook and promoting their events through that medium, this calendar aggregates all the events into this master calendar, without anyone having to reenter the same information in multiple places. No, I'm sorry but I have chosen to create the calendar this way in order to allow people to add their own events, so that it is as low-maintenance as possible, which is why it works. Having an administrator be responsible for creating all events, and fielding constant email requests from people wanting to update or fix calendar entries, is why most online calendars don't last. It's a large time commitment for someone to do in their free time. (I know because I've done it.) The way I have set this up, if you have a Facebook account and add Cleveland Jazz as a friend, all you need to do is invite Cleveland Jazz to any events you create, and the event automatically appears on the Cleveland Jazz Facebook page, as well as on the clevejazz.com calendar. And on a side note, just FYI, whether you personally like Facebook or not, if you are trying to promote any kind of events or a musical group and you are not on Facebook, you are missing out on a huge free marketing opportunity. And no, I don't get any kickbacks from Facebook, I'm just saying what I've observed.
